Stat Quo Info : New Artist off Shady Records

With his buzz continuing to grow, Stat quo, the Atlanta native, is preparing to shoot a video for his latest street banger "Like Dat." Stat Quo will be the next rapper to drop off the powerful shady/aftermath umbrella.
"A lot of people know the name and some of the music, but they don't have the actual face to go with it. We gon' put a face to the music," Stat Quo explained durin a recent interview with my cousin.
"Like Dat" will be shot on Wednesday (June 15) in the rapper's hometown of Atlanta with a majority of it being filmed in the infamous Thomasville Heights projects, aka ZONE 3.
"It's the beginning of my career, so I wanted to start where I began life," "Plus, [the city of Atlanta] is supposed to be tearing the projects down, so I wanted to showcase the area I grew up in and capture it before it was gone forever."
Although "Like Dat" will not be the official first single for his upcoming Shady Records debut (Statlanta), the single's buzz is gaining so much momentum in the Midwest and South, it was only right to take the opportunity to give fans a visual look at Stat Quo.
Taking the reins of the video's direction is Mike Taylor (younger brother of famed video director Chris Robinson), who most recent work includes the Boyz N Da Hood "Dem Boyz" video.
When Stat Quo finishes up his first video, fans will be able to catch him on the Anger Management Tour, where he will perform alongside his label mates (Eminem, D12, Obie Trice) as well as the G-Unit family and Lil Jon.
"I feel blessed to be beside such great artists," says Stat. "Everyone on the tour -- Eminem, D12, Obie, G-Unit, Lil Jon -- have sold millions of records; I haven't sold a record yet. It's a beautiful look. I can't wait to perform my music before thousands of people."
That's not all. True to the grind mode of being a new artist, Stat has been in the lab cooking up bangers for two mixtapes that he's doing with heavy hitters, DJ Whoo Kid and DJ Drama, which are sure be a very hot commodity to hip-hop fans. Both tapes are expected to drop very soon.
As for Stat Quo's major label debut, Statlanta, he is close to finishing it, and is expected to hit sometime at the end of the year.
