M.O.P. TO DROP INDIE ALBUM BEFORE G-UNIT RECORDS DEBUT

M.O.P. will release a new independent album next month which will be followed by the group's G-Unit Records debut sometime early next year. The new album, The St. Marxmen, features guest spots by Jay-Z, the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, Wyclef Jean, and Gang Starr's DJ Premier. The set is due out on October 18th on Koch Records.

The label's general manager and executive vice president, Alan Grunblatt, said in a released statement, "Cliff Cultreri and I signed M.O.P. First Family to Relativity Records, where the group had the most success. We've been friends for a long time, so it's a natural fit for Koch to put out their next great release."

M.O.P.'s last studio release was 2000's Warriorz. The group released a rock side project under the Mash Out Posse moniker last year titled Ghetto Warfare.
