NORE to release two new albums
Queens, New York-based rapper NORE has just signed a new deal with Jay-Z's Roc La Familia label that will allow him to release a reggaeton album, while also releasing a regular rap album through Def Jam Records. The rapper told allhiphop.com, "I am really excited. I am about to put out two different genres of music under the label, so this is real big. I think I am the first artist to have two completely separate deals by the same company, so I can actually put out two very different albums at the same time and there not be any problems."
NORE's reggaeton album, Nore A La Familia, is slated to come out in March and will feature guest appearances by Daddy Yankee, Zion & Lennox, and Hector Bombino.
The rapper explained to us that he wanted to be the ambassador to bring reggaeton to the mainstream, since he's half Puerto Rican. He said: "By me being half Puerto Ricano, me being able to do the reggaeton, you understand what I'm sayin', I was just like, 'Yo man, I love this music and what they doing, so you know what -- I'mma be the first rapper that cross over and do a reggaeton track and introduce it to the BETs and MTVs, and introduce it to the whole world.'"
NORE's hip-hop album, One Fan A Day, is scheduled for release in January. The latest single from the project is "I'm A G" featuring Pharrell Williams. The set will also feature guest appearances by Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, and Young Chris of the Young Gunz.
