UGK'S PIMP C MIGHT BE RELEASED FROM PRISON IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS
UGK's Pimp C got some good news just in time for the holidays. Allhiphop.com reports that the rapper was granted parole and could be released from prison in time for Christmas. The rapper's UGK groupmate Bun B told a Texas radio host, "Word's coming back that he's been approved for parole and should be home in the next 60 days. It's definitely a blessing, it's a beautiful thing. I hope that everybody will be able to burn the Free Pimp C shirts real soon and throwing those caps away. Then we can start rocking the Welcome Back Pimp C."
Pimp C has been incarcerated since January 28th, 2001, when he was sentenced to eight years behind bars for parole violations on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Although paroled, Pimp C, whose real name is Chad Butler, will be under state supervision until 2009.
Pimp C released four albums as a member of UGK (Underground Kingz). The group's last release was 2001's Dirty Money. The rapper and producer released his debut album, The Sweet James Jones Stories, in March of 2005
