Sticky Fingaz Records PSA in Honor of Jam Master Jay
By: Yves Erwin Salomon
In honor of what would have been Jam Master Jay's 41st birthday on January 21st, rapper and actor Sticky Fingaz hooked up with Canadian radio personality Raoul "Deejay Ra" Juneja to record a public service announcement in honor of the slain deejay. SOHH.com reports that in the P.S.A., Fingaz praises other deejays for keeping Jam Master Jay's legacy alive. The P.S.A. is also part of Deejay Ra's "Hip-Hop Literacy" campaign, which encourages youths to learn more about Jam Master Jay through his biography, The Heart Of Hip-Hop.
Sticky Fingaz and his Onyx groupmates were discovered in the mid-'90s by Jam Master Jay, who signed the group to his JMJ imprint and released their multi-platinum debut.
Sticky Fingaz has landed the title role for Spike TV's Blade, which premieres in June.
Jam Master Jay was murdered in October of 2002. His murder is still unsolved.
