Fabolous Fires Back at Mase

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

From very early in his career, Fabolous was compared to Mase because of his slow, deliberate lyrical delivery. At the time, Mase was retired and just a memory to fans but upon his return, he threw a few jabs toward Fabolous, most notably the line "I don't know why Loon and Fabby won't just say I'm their daddy" from the song "I Don't Know, Officer," from the Get Rich Or Die Tryin' soundtrack. Fabolous has responded to Mase's comment on his new double mixtape, Loso's Way. The rapper told MTV.com, "He threw a jab and I threw a jab and uppercut."

Fabolous also explained that he was surprised by the lyrical attack because he saw Mase in Philadelphia and the two men spoke and shook hands. The rapper explained, "For you (Mase) to say that to me and the next time I hear you on record, (you're dissing me), I feel dude is confused. If you're not really a killer but you running with a bunch of dudes that say they're killers, I guess you're gonna talk like you a killer, too, even if it's not believable. I think (Mase) got caught up in trying to act like the people he's around. 50 Cent and them is known for taking jabs and saying wild, reckless stuff. I guess he felt he had to jump in those shoes, too. I just had to answer to it."

In related news, Fabolous has completed his move to Def Jam Records and he's working on a new album. Mase is still contractually bound to Sean Combs's Bad Boy Records, but Diddy and 50 Cent are in the process of working out a deal that would allow Mase to join the roster of G-Unit Records.

I'm feelin Fab too but Game especially aint killin' an empire like G-Unit no where. Just listen to how much a success "Not Rich Still Lyin" is on the radio, you would think that's his new single.

I don't understand why people don't give G unit the respect they deserve. Yes Fab might be right by answering to Mase. but why does poeple think that G unit won't have his back? Let me ask a question to all that reads this... Who really is fuc**** with G Unit? Who D Block?? Not!! Maybe Sheek looch and Jada... yeah but as a team when was the last time D block put something out that sold something close to what the Rhyme squad put out (that is G unit for the slow ones) Mase is just another legend being put in the right group. FAB you had a right to what you said but think that you can't get it.
