X-Clan Launched Foundation in Honor of Professor X
By: Yves Erwin Salomon
Socially-conscious hip hop group X-Clan and the Blackwatch Movement have come together to announce the formation of the X-Clan Foundation in honor of Professor X, who died last month. The new foundation will be dedicated to raising money for programs to uplift young people and support them in becoming the best they can be. X-Clan's Brother J said, "I am proud of the evolution of X-Clan for this new millennium beyond the music. The collaboration of CORE and the X-Clan Foundation allows us to address self-destruction issues in our youth on a national and international scale." The X-Clan Foundation was formed as a project of CORE Concepts (Communities Organizing To Reach Excellent Concepts).
A portion of proceeds from The X-Clan Foundation will go towards the family and burial costs of Professor X, whose real name was Lumumba Carson.
