Lil' Cease trying to get his street credibility back
By: Yves Erwin Salomon
Junior MAFIA frontman Lil'Cease has seen his reputation take a beating since he testified for the prosecution during Lil'Kim's perjury trial last year. The rapper recently explained that he's releasing a DVD in June called Lil'Cease's Reality Check, which will help to prove that he did not snitch on his one-time friend. He rapper told MTV.com, "It's not like I'm talking about (Kim). I'm talking about the mistakes she made. It's just straight politics and talking to people about the law and how not to make mistakes. I got Jadakiss on there, Snoop, Bleu Da Vinci, Eve, Russell Simmons... We just explaining the whole situation, telling n---as that I didn't tell. I don't get down like that."
Cease has attempted to get into contact with Lil'Kim and even wrote her a letter, but the Queen Bee hasn't responded. While Lil'Kim might be turning a deaf ear to Lil'Cease, her friend Maino confronted Lil'Cease recently and the two had a fist fight. Cease said, "It wasn't nothing, dawg. N---as seen each other, we had problems, it was real personal. I saw him on his strip... I was going to the liquor store, the n---a approached me, took off his chain, we start scrappin'. We fought, nobody jumped in, nobody got jumped. He said he was good, I said I was good, I jumped in my car and left."
Maino explained that he's also moved past the beef: "Sometimes when you're men, you just have to get some things off your chest, you know what I mean? You know, like, we men before we anything. So, like, you know, we have a problem, we can't work it out with words, something like that, then you have to get that off your chest. You know, so that's what it is. It's not even a situation. It's done. That's done. It's a wrap."
While Lil'Cease and Maino have moved past their differences, Cease has a beef with his former friends Cam'ron and Jim Jones, who have both called him a snitch in the media. Cease said, "Keep my name out of your mouth. I was really bugging off Cam because I saw him a couple of times... and everything was all gravy. I'm like, 'OK, n---as is taking shots.'But (Cam) sat there and did something I didn't do. You get on a record and say the n---a threw up the Roc sign before he shot you (last year). That's dry snitching. I got no love for them."
