LL Cool J hooking up with 50 Cent for next album

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

Rapper and actor LL Cool J just released an album called Todd Smith earlier this year, but he plans to release another one this fall titled Todd Smith, Part 2: Back To Cool. He told MTV.com, "It's my last Def Jam record, so I wanted to make it something special and something really unique and kinda get back to my roots a little bit. 50 (Cent) reminds me a lot of the things that I used to do and the places I used to be in my life, and I think we can have a good time together."

Cool J added, "He's talented and I feel like I have something I want to say -- I think he can help me get it off my chest."

LL Cool J and 50 Cent have already begun to work together. The duo, Lloyd Banks, and newcomer Hot Rod are featured on the remix of LL Cool J's "Freeze," which is titled "You Can Bump This."

No release date has been set for Todd Smith, Part 2: Back To Cool, but don't expect too many guests on the project. Cool J explained, "I don't know if I'm gonna do as many collaborations on this record. I think that me and 50 is enough."
