Ludacris says new album will put him in the number one spot

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

Ludacris'last album, 2004's Red Light District, included the hit, "Number One Spot." With the release of his new album, Release Therapy, the rapper thinks he will actually find himself in that very spot. He told MTV.com, "I feel like I'm there after this one, I say it on a song too."

The first single from the new album, which hits stores on September 26th, is "Money Maker" featuring Pharrell Williams. The album also features a collaboration with R. Kelly, called "Woozy." Ludacris explained, "Working with R. Kelly is great. He's one of the hardest-working individuals, period. He's straight vampire: He leaves the studio when the sun comes up, goes in when it goes down."

Ludacris wanted to break the new album up into two sides Release and Therapy but since CDs don't have two sides he's run into a problem. He explained, "The way we're going to try to format the record is you have your Release side and your Therapy side. Everybody knows the Release side would be 'War With God,' 'Tell It Like It Is.'I have a record called 'Slap.'Just getting everything off my chest. The Therapy side would be feel-good -- a song like 'Woozy'with R. Kelly on it is therapeutic. Even 'Money Maker.'Some women's therapy is getting out, going to the club and shaking they ass. It's therapeutic to them. It's a Release end and Therapy side. Too bad it's a CD -- you can't really split up sides."
