Lil Wayne gets love from Kobe Bryant

Rapper Lil Wayne is currently on the Up Close & Personal tour with Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Juelz Santana, and Dem Franchize Boyz. MTV.com reports that when the tour hits California this week, Lil Wayne will be wearing a special Los Angeles Lakers jersey which was a gift for Kobe Bryant.

Wayne explained, "When Kobe heard about the concert, he reached out to me 'cause he's a fan of my music and I'm a fan of his skills on the court. He said he wanted me to be the first to represent his new jersey, number 24, and I was with it!"

Bryant formerly wore Number 8.

In related news, Lil Wayne and Birdman will release their new album, Like Father Like Son, in October. The latest single from the project is "Stuntin' Like My Daddy."
