Method Man is still down with Def Jam

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

Rumors have been circulating that rapper Method Man was dropped by his label, Def Jam Records, but a label publicist issued a statement this week that read, "Method Man is still part of the Def Jam family and he is currently on tour promoting his new CD."

The rumors began after the rapper's last album, 4:21: The Day After, sold just over 62,000 copies its first week in stores. The sales were the lowest first week showing of the rapper's solo career.

Method Man is currently touring in support of the new album and he will be on the road through November. Saigon, Masta Killa, and Inspectah Deck are opening for the rapper on his tour.

4:21: The Day After features guest appearances by Fat Joe and Styles P, with production by Dr. Dre, Scott Storch, and RZA.
