T.I. grabs four Grammy nominations

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

Atlanta-based rapper T.I. grabbed four Grammy nods when the nominees were announced on Thursday, December 7th. The rapper was nominated in the Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song categories for his hit, "What You Know." The rapper explained how he came up with the song: "Me and DJ Toomp just went in the studio and we just created the song. Simple as that. I mean, we got a different kind of chemistry. We worked together so much in the past -- as a matter of fact, he brought me in the game."

T.I. was also nominated in the Best Rap Album category for King. He explained that he was simply trying to make his best album ever. T.I. said: "Just my best work yet, best body of work ever. I mean, the response from the people and the concurrence of your belief matched with the people's opinions, y'know, like the people who say 'I feel like this is your best work yet,'that's what I'm going for."

The rapper was also nominated in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for his duet with Justin Timberlake, "My Love."
