Wu-Tang Clan reunion in the works

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

Staten-Island New York-based rap collective, the Wu-Tang Clan, is allegedly in talks with Steve Rifkind to sign with his SRC Records, which is distributed by Universal. Rifkind signed the group to an unprecedented contract in the early '90s which allowed each group member the flexibility to sign as a solo act elsewhere.

The Wu-Tang Clan last release was 2001's Iron Flag which was released on Rifkind's Loud Records.

Prior to the reports that the group was possibly hooking back up with Rifkind, the RZA and GZA shared that they wanted to do another album to bring some closure to the situation.

RZA explained that the group plans to record one more album. He said:"We are preparing to do one more album collectively and that's for closure, really. That's for closure so our fans can have closure. I think that the fans don't have closure on Wu-Tang and I think they deserve it and I think one more album should fulfill it. If the group itself feels the vibe and want to continue that route, maybe two more albums."

GZA added the whole group hasn't actually discussed the topic together: "I think it's probably a thought, the same thought is in all our heads but it wasn't shared amongst each other. I mean I spoke to RZA about it, you know it was like, 'We need to bang 'em one more time, you know and then we can wrap it up.'We need to do that but the group as a whole we haven't spoke about it."
