Young Jeezy Grabs the Number One Spot
By: Yves Erwin Salomon
Atlanta-based rapper Young Jeezy bum-rushed the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. The rapper's sophomore set, The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102, sold over 352,000 copies to easily beat out the debut by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks.
Jeezy's debut album, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation, sold 172,000 copies its first week in stores last year.
The lead single from The Inspiration is "I Luv It," but the rapper will be releasing a new single, "Go Getta" featuring R. Kelly, in the coming weeks.
