Eminem in talks to purchase concert hall

Eminem is currently in negotiations to purchase St. Andrews Hall, a popular concert venue in Detroit which was featured in his motion picture debut, 8 Mile. According to the Detroit News, Eminem and his manager, Paul Rosenberg, have been trying to work out a deal with Live Nation -- formerly Clear Channel Entertainment-- to purchase the 1,000-capacity venue. The duo would like the current management to stay on and run the day-to-day operations of the facility.

A source told the Detroit News, "Given his ties to the building and the venue's price, the building is a good investment for him."

Eminem earned many of his rap stripes during battles which were held in the building's basement, which has been dubbed "The Shelter."
