Tony Yayo makes brief court appearance
By: Yves Erwin Salomon
G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo, whose real name is Marvin Bernard, made a court appearance on Wednesday April 25th for his ongoing assault case. The rapper, who is out on bail, is accused of roughing up the 14-year-old son of The Game's manager Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond.
Yayo's court appearance was brief as the judge set the next court date for July 24th. Outside of the courtroom, the rapper's lawyer Scott Leemon told MTV.com, "After a thorough investigation, I steadfastly and adamantly state to you that Tony Yayo did not slap anyone. I am hopeful that when (authorities) complete their investigation, they will come to the same conclusion. Yayo, as a father, understands the allegations and would never do anything to harm a child."
In related news, Yayo's mother's home was riddled with bullets last week. No one was hurt and the authorities are currently investigating whether or not the incident is related to the rapper's assault case.
