50 Cent Lands Role In New Deniro-Pacino Movie

By: Yves Erwin Salomon

Rapper 50 Cent has landed a role in Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino's forthcoming movie, Righteous Kill. New York's Daily News reports that 50 Cent will play a drug dealer in the movie, which isn't a stretch for the rapper who began dealing drugs on the streets of Jamaica, Queens at the age of 12. Shooting is scheduled to begin on August 6th in Connecticut. The movie is expected to hit theaters in 2008.

50 Cent has already signed on to star in another movie with Robert DeNiro, titled New Orleans, in which both he and DeNiro will play cops.

The rapper is also set to co-star opposite Nicholas Cage in the boxing movie, The Dance. The boxing film will be based on the life of Billy "The Kid" Roth, a former champion who spent almost 45 years as a volunteer boxing coach and father figure in Louisiana's state prison system. Cage will play Roth, while 50 Cent will play a boxer who is serving a life sentence.

In related news, 50 Cent's new album, Curtis, will hit stores in September. The first single from the project was "Straight To The Bank." 50 Cent explained how the song fit into the overall theme of the new album. He said: "Overall the concept was for me to make the record human. You know so I wanted to put human emotions on the record at different periods cause people might enjoy that music while they're in that actual space or mind frame. So the first song I released was 'Straight To The Bank,' and it embodied laughter and joy."

Because Deniro, Pacino, and Cage are in the movies they will probably make some money, but I hope they're flops.
