Remy Ma To Release Indie Project
By: Yves Erwin Salomon
Former Terror Squad member Remy Ma will release an indie album, The BX Files, through Sure Shot Recordings on August 28th. The album will feature guest appearances by Murda Mook, T-Rex, Papoose, Jae Millz, and Maino with production by the Heatmakerz and Ron Browz.
Sure Shot CEO Chris Landry said in a released statement, "Remy is an incredibly talented MC who can battle anybody, male or female. She continues to carry the legacy of Big Pun and we are excited about releasing one of the best female MCs in the game."
Remy Ma released her debut album, There's Something About Remy, last year through Terror Squad/SRC Records. But the rapper was soon on the outs with SRC and Fat Joe. She explained, "You got me in here and I'm screaming at them crazy and they don't ever see my boss (Fat Joe), who's supposed to be holding me down. It's like, if he don't care then why should we care. There was so much craziness over there at that label with the last album and I just feel like I know it wasn't me. I did 'Feels So Good'with Ne-Yo, I did the 'Conceited'joint with Scott Storch, I did the 'Whuteva'joint with Swizz Beatz. From 'Lean Back'to the Remy album it shoulda been laid out quite flat, but they was playing around."
Remy Ma has yet to resign with a major but she shared what she's looking for. The rapper said: "It's gonna be with somebody that got the same drive like me. That want to win like me. Like second is the first loser and I don't want to be that."
