50 Cent Blames Label For Album Woes

G-Unit founder 50 Cent is running second to Kanye West so far in their head-to-head competition but the official tally on the two albums will be announced early next week. 50 Cent has already started to make excuses in case he loses the battle. He told New York's WQHT-FM's Angie Martinez, "To be honest the process of selling this record hasn't been fun. I'm happy with the performance, but I'm not happy with the set up. We had conference calls and after we created this plan, nobody actually had a plan."
The rapper also shared that he may be leaving Interscope Records after fulfilling his contractual obligations with his next album. 50 Cent explained, "It was the label. They're dropping the ball all over the place. I'll release my next album and then I'm a free agent."
Prior to the showdown between 50 Cent's Curtis and West's Graduation, 50 Cent vowed to retire if West beat him now he's vowed to go to war. He said, "Hypothetically, if I came in under Kanye West, I would release a new album every time Def Jam had a priority. I would release a record versus every one of their top priorities."
Currently West is projected to sell between 650,000-750,000 copies while 50 Cent is projected to sell between 500,000-600,000 copies. West moved 437,000 copies of Graduation its first day in stores to jump out in front.
