LL Cool J being considered for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

LL Cool J, Donna Summer, Jimmy Cliff and Darlene Love are among the 12 acts being considered for induction into next year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Joining LL and Cliff as first time nominees are Kiss, Red Hot Chili Peppers Genesis, The Hollies and songwriter Laura Nyro, reports the Associated Press.

Rounding out the 12 are the Chantels and the Stooges, who, like Summer and Love, have been on the ballot before.

Only five acts are inducted each year. The 2010 class will be announced in December ahead of the 25th annual induction ceremony on March 15 in New York City.
